Elfy Scott

Elfy Scott is a presenter, journalist, author, podcast host, and Executive Editor at Mamamia.

Her debut book, 'The One Thing We've Never Spoken About,' published in early 2023, focuses on the often-overlooked experiences of individuals grappling complex mental health conditions in Australia. In writing her book, Elfy draws from her own experience living with a mother with schizophrenia, with some significant insights about the stigma surrounding mental health and how we can shift our perspective by giving voice to those suffering from mental health. 

Elfy kick-started her journalism career as BuzzFeed News' inaugural science reporter and has contributed freelance journalism to esteemed publications such as The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, SBS, Junkee, Pedestrian, and VICE. Additionally, she served as the senior producer and host of the daily video news show, The Junkee Takeaway, for Junkee Media, earning over 20 million views in its first year. In 2021, she was honoured with a 30 Under 30 award from B&T in the Producer/Journalist category for her exceptional work on this show.

Throughout her career, Elfy has collaborated with high-profile brands like Red Bull, Google, Snapchat, Greenpeace, and Bank Australia, showcasing her prowess as both a presenter and producer. Despite her professional achievements, Elfy remains deeply passionate about her nerdy interests, particularly science reporting, climate action, and fostering conversations around mental health.
