Unlocking Human Potential Through Leadership, Connection, and Culture

As one of 5 children, Dr Ali Walker's interest in group dynamics started early around a very lively dinner table. She started her career as a criminal lawyer with the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and changed course to research human behaviour and group dynamics. She was awarded a PhD from the Australian National University in 2013. Since then, Ali has designed personality assessments to identify how we connect with others (in relationships, teams and as leaders) and our motivational drivers (intrinsic and extrinsic motivators). Her company is called Ality.

Ali is now a ‘human connection scientist’ specialising in leadership, connection and culture. She has designed executive leadership programs for Woodside, JCA, Westpac and Rabobank, among others.

Ali wrote her first book, Get Conscious: How to Stop Overthinking & Come Alive, while her first son was asleep as a baby in the next room. It started as a journal (the book she wanted to write instead of her PhD). She then released her second book, Collective Consciousness & Gender, in August 2018.

Ali is an Adjunct Faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her work focuses on the question: How do we ignite human potential & flourishing? The answers include: human connection, leadership, consciousness, self-awareness, mindfulness, empathy, positive cultures and social connectedness.

Ali is also a regular contributor to the media, including a variety of radio programs, including 2GB 873am and ABC Radio National. She has had two weekly radio segments, 2GB 873am on Saturday mornings; and ‘Conscious Living’ on Radio 2UE Talking Lifestyle 954am.

Ali's a keynote speaker for companies and organisations, focusing on the topics of leadership and connection.

In addition to her PhD, Ali has a Masters degree in International Law & International Relations and two undergraduate degrees in Law (with Merit) and Arts (Politics & International Relations) from the University of NSW. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Integral Coaching.
