A dual Olympian and a cherished Federation Cup team member, Casey Dellacqua burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old at the 2003 Australian Open. Not long after, Casey would join the elites in the world’s top 50. She became the highest ranked Australian tennis player after making it to the fourth round of the 2008 Australian Open. After recovering from shoulder and foot surgeries, Casey made a big return to tennis in 2011 with six ITF Pro Ciccuit wins and a French Open mixed-doubles win.
Casey’s talent shines best in doubles, ranking as high as No. 3 in the world. She has made it to finals in the French, Australian and US Open, as well as in Wimbledon.
Since then, Casey has scored an impressive 22 ITF singles titles. Determined to keep going, Casey saw moderate success in singles at the 2012 Texas Tennis Open, 2014 Birmingham Classic, Indian Wells Masters, 2014 Australian Open and the 2014 US Open.
Following concerning concussion symptoms that lasted a year, Casey’s singles career ended in 2015. Soon after, she retired from professional tennis in 2018 with a Spirit of Tennis Award in recognition of her career.
