A Rock Icon, Shaping Australian Music for Over 50 Years

Ross Wilson is a towering figure in Australian rock music, whose career spans over five decades with no signs of slowing down. From his groundbreaking work with Daddy Cool to his influential role in Mondo Rock, and as a prolific solo artist, Ross has firmly established himself as one of the country's most enduring and respected musicians.

Emerging from the vibrant 70s scene, Ross Wilson first captivated audiences with Daddy Cool, whose hit "Eagle Rock" and debut album "Daddy Who?" shattered sales records in Australia. His subsequent formation of Mondo Rock in 1977 marked another milestone, delivering 80s classics such as "Cool World", "State of The Heart", "Chemistry", "No Time", and "Come Said The Boy". Throughout the 90s and beyond, Ross continued to shine as a solo artist and songwriter, with his music embraced by a diverse range of artists including Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, DEF-FX, Custard, and many others.

Ross’s contributions as a producer are equally impressive, having worked with iconic bands like Skyhooks, Jo Jo Zep, The Johnnys, and more recently, The Screaming Jets. His global influence can be seen through his extensive list of collaborators, including international artists like Jennifer Rush (EU), Keke (Spain), and Elkie Brooks (UK).

Continuing to push boundaries, Ross Wilson’s 2023 release, "She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time", marks his first new music since 2010. This EP features four new tracks that showcase his dynamic range and contemporary edge, capturing the essence of a musician who remains as vital as ever. The title track humorously critiques modern social media habits, and the EP's energetic vibe reflects Ross’s enduring passion for music.

To celebrate this new release, Ross embarked on his most extensive national tour since the 80s, with over 40 dates across Australia. This tour not only highlights his ongoing relevance but also cements his legacy as a everlasting figure in Australian rock music.
