Tim Faulkner

Wildlife hero, TV presenter, and conservation leader

Tim Faulkner’s life is filled with daring exploits and an unwavering dedication to wildlife conservation. Wrestling saltwater crocodiles, wrangling deadly Taipans, and milking Funnel-web spiders are just part of his daily routine. Amidst these thrilling encounters, Tim still finds time to release blue-tongued lizards, tag wild platypuses and safeguard the Tasmania Devil from extinction.

Tim works as the General Manager and Head of Conservation at the Australia Reptile Park in Somersby NSW, and The Devil Ark at Barrington Tops NSW, two vital conversation hubs. His leadership has propelled these institutions to the forefront of wildlife tourism, attracting over 220,000 visitors annually, including many international guests.

As a recognised leader in the Australian zoo industry and in conservation organisations, Tim has dedicated his career to hands-on wildlife education and preservation. As the driving force behind the Central Coast’s largest tourism attraction, the Australian Reptile Park, he oversees its day-to-day operations. Alongside 35 staff and 50 volunteers, Tim is credited with the growing success of the park as the leading wildlife tourism attraction in NSW for both regional and global markets.

Tim’s influence extends beyond the confines of the park, reaching millions through television. His appearances on Network 10’s ‘Bondi Vet’, showcase his contagious personality and deep passion for animals, receiving nearly 500,000 viewers per episode. In 2013, Tim captivated audiences with his own show, The Wild Life of Tim Faulkner’, now in its third series. With the perfect blend of conservation, education, and entertainment, the show airs globally, reaching 180 million viewers across 150 countries.

However, Tim’s commitment to conservation doesn’t end with his television fame. He’s also a personal ambassador for Australian wildlife, advocating for species like the Tasmanian Devil, Koala, Quokka, and Dingo. His involvement in initiatives like ‘The Devil Ark’ and the ‘Great Koala National Park’ display his unwavering dedication to preserving Australian natural treasures.

Accolades including being named the Australian Geographic Australian Conservationist of the Year in 2015 are a testament to Tim’s tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to protecting the planets most vulnerable creatures.
