Roanna Edwards is a Whadjuk and Ballardong Noongar woman with a dynamic career spanning journalism, Aboriginal Affairs, and leadership in the corporate sector. Based in Perth, she is well-known across Western Australia for hosting ABC Radio’s Saturday Breakfast program and co-hosting the beloved gardening show Roots & Shoots with expert Sabrina Hahn.

A proud advocate for Aboriginal perspectives, Roanna is deeply connected to her Noongar roots and is passionate about championing Indigenous issues. After growing up in regional Western Australia, including the Mid West, Wheatbelt, and the Kimberley, Roanna is thrilled to now live and work on Noongar boodjar (country), where she draws inspiration from the land, community, and cultural heritage.

Roanna's professional journey began in journalism as a cadet at the Geraldton Guardian, before she transitioned to radio at ABC, where she produced and presented flagship sports shows at ABC Grandstand. Since 2011, Roanna has dedicated much of her career to Aboriginal Affairs, working with key statutory bodies and state-owned utilities to create lasting positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Her experience includes media and PR roles with the powerful Aboriginal Land Council based in Darwin and nearly a decade with Horizon Power, where she worked in regional and remote communities to drive meaningful change.

Currently, Roanna is a management consultant, leading PwC’s Indigenous Consulting team in WA. Her focus is on economic development, helping businesses and governments implement strategies that deliver sustainable benefits for Aboriginal communities. Roanna is also the Chairperson of the Aboriginal Lands Trust and serves on the board of her beloved Swan Districts Football Club in the WAFL, demonstrating her commitment to both community development and grassroots sports.

As an experienced facilitator, Roanna excels at shaping organisational strategy, leading high-performing teams, and influencing change through effective stakeholder management and community engagement. Her skills in communications, media relations, and community engagement are complemented by her ongoing studies in Political Science and International Relations at The University of Western Australia.

Roanna’s warm and vibrant character has made her a highly sought-after master of ceremonies and corporate speaker. Her conversational style, combined with her deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, enables her to bring a unique perspective to any discussion.
