The Founder of Boost Juice
As the founder and director of Australia’s beloved Boost Juice brand, Janine Allis has been reinventing the healthy food industry. After successfully expanding the brand to over 550 stores around the world, Janine continues to share her business expertise with other Australian brands and business owners.
Janine and her husband Jeff were researching what consumers were missing in the retail and food industry, when they noticed the lack of healthy and delicious fast food options. With extensive research and experimenting, they developed a ‘love life’ philosophy that would inform their new business venture.
In 2000, Janine began the business at a kitchen table in suburban Melbourne, and quickly grew Boost Juice into the largest growing juice and smoothie chain in the Southern Hemisphere. Their aggressive expansion strategy has seen the brand grow to 13 countries, with over 1 million juices and smoothies sold each month.
Boost Juice has been recognised with a range of accolades, including the 2005 Amex Franchisor of the Year and the 2007 ARA Retailer of the Year. The brand has also been inducted into the ‘My Business’ Hall of Fame.
Since then, Janine continues to support other Australian brands like Salsas Fresh Mex Grill and Cibo Espresso, drawing on her business expertise to grow successful empires. Australians will also recognise Janine as an investor and mentor on Channel Ten’s Shark Tank, where she coaches aspiring entrepreneurs to build successful businesses.
Janine also has extensive leadership experience outside of Boost Juice. As the first female President of Hawthorn Football Club, she has also gone on to be appointed as a director for Retail Zoo and Michael Hill Jewellers. She is known for her warmth and ‘hands on’ leadership style, inspiring a high-performance culture that will help businesses achieve incredible results.
As the Telstra Australia Businesswoman of the Year in 2004, Janine is one of the most popular business speakers for her engaging anecdotes and effective business insights.
