The youngest of three boys from Mooroolbark in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Garside surprised his family with his desire to become a boxer as a 9-year-old. Leaving school Harry became a plumber and followed his desire to be an Australian boxer.
In 2015, Harry won his first of six Australian National Championships. Then in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Garside he walked away with his first Gold Medal in the men's 60kg division.
Harry Garside competed in the men's lightweight event at the 2020 Summer Olympics winning a bronze medal.
