Beloved and veteran TV news presenter Sharyn Ghidella brings her 38 years of experience back to the network where her career began and, starting September 2024, Sharyn will present Queensland’s 10 News First bulletin from the network’s Brisbane studios. The Bulletin provides Queenslanders with even more local content, keeping them informed about the issues that matter to them, both home and overseas.
Sharyn is a well-respected journalist and presenter with almost four decades experience in the media. She has presented the 7NEWS’ 6pm bulletin Monday – Friday across Queensland alongside Max Futcher and has been with the Seven Network for more than 17 years.
A versatile presenter, Sharyn has anchored network coverage of major events such as the Iraq war, Cyclone Larry, Brisbane Flooding, Royal Tours, Commonwealth Games, the Daniel Morcombe and Baden-Clay trials and Steve Irwin’s memorial.
Sharyn is passionate about the local community and is an ambassador for several charities including the Allison Baden Clay Foundation, RBWH Foundation and Kokoda Track Foundation.
Sharyn has previously sat on the Board of the Queensland Theatre Company and has held ambassadorial roles for charities such as Variety, The Children’s Charity, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and the Queensland Firebirds Netball team. She has also been a Patron of Community Access Respite Services, which provided support for the disabled.
