Australian journalist and media presenter on The Project
Since 2022, journalist and TV producer Georgie Tunny became a full-time host for Network Ten’s The Project.
Originally from Brisbane, Georgie completed a double Bachelors in Arts and Journalism from the University of Queensland. After a short stint with Courier Mail and Fox Sports, she would commence her full-time journalism career with the ABC in 2015.
Being a core part of the presenting team on ABC’s News Breakfast for five years, she was the go-to presenter for sports and weather. Having grown up with a love of sports, Georgie specialised in sports coverage when she worked as an ABC producer and reporter. She was also an executive producer for ABC’s Offsiders: Summer Series.
In 2020, Georgie co-hosted the media coverage of the bushfires, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
After juggling multiple gigs between Melbourne and Sydney, including as an anchor for Foxtel’s streaming service Flash, Georgie was announced to be a permanent journalist on The Project after Carrie Bickmore’s departure in 2022.
Georgie brings her sharp intellect and warm personality to every presenting gig. Now working as a speaker and host, she guarantees laughs and energy no matter the audience!
