Best known as the host and news presenter of Channel Nine’s hugely popular breakfast show TODAY, Georgie Gardner is one of the most popular and recognisable personalities working in Australian entertainment currently.
Georgie pursued her interest in the performing arts at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. After completing her associate diploma, with a major in media performance, Georgie moved to New South Wales where she took up a cadetship at Radio 2NX. After a successful debut year reporting, writing and presenting the news, she was rewarded with radio’s highest award – a RAWARD as Australia’s Best Newcomer to metropolitan radio.
Soon after, Georgie moved to Sydney’s top-rated 2DAY FM station as a drive-time newsreader for the station’s newsroom. Three years later, Georgie moved to the Ten Network as a television news reporter and presenter.
In 1998, Georgie grew her professional expertise after moving to Seven Network to read the Late News, where she would go on to co-host the Sunrise program for two years.
Since then, Georgie has also worked with the Nine Network to present various news bulletins, as well as the weather on the 6.00pm weekday news.
Outside of her broadcast work, Georgie is passionate about giving back to her local communities through a variety of charity organisations for youths. She is also an ambassador for Red Kite, Literacy Planet and School for Life.
