Rugby Legend and Larger Than Life Sporting Icon
Chris, or 'Buddha' as he affectionately became known, was far more than the gregarious television commentator of the 1990s.
A devout Queenslander, Chris is almost as synonymous with Queensland and Rugby as Bundy Rum and XXXX beer. He was a very courageous footballer known for his agility and skill with the ball and his love for the sport. In his playing days, he played 54 games for Queensland and was one of the select band of Wallabies to have lifted the Bledisloe Cup on two occasions.
When he retired from the field, Chris found his place behind the microphone, commentating on every World Cup, Super 10 and 12 since 1987. Nowadays, he is highly sought-after as a guest speaker, captivating his audience with his exuberant personality and cheeky sense of humour and sharing endless stories from his vast memory.
A veteran of the sport, Buddha has complemented his playing career by maintaining and developing a quality group of business partners and relationships. He is heavily involved in community initiatives, a great role model. He is a respected advocate for any company he represents.
Known for his love of Queensland and passion for Australian Rugby, Chris is a brand ambassador for the Queensland Reds as well as a rugby commentator and television reporter.
