Award-Winning Sports Reporter and Commentator
From the Long Room at Lords to State of Origin dressing rooms, Ben has travelled the world interviewing Prime Ministers, world champions and national sporting captains. He is an award-winning sports reporter, commentator and presenter, covering sports and current affairs for radio and television.
In 1997 and 1999, Ben won Best Television Repor in the National Soccer League's National Media Awards for his reports on the Brisbane Strikers.
Ben first started his career as a part-time cadet at the Ten Network while completing a degree in Communication (Journalism) at the Queensland University of Technology. Since then, he has worked for Channel 7 for over two decades. During this time, Ben has covered some of Queensland's and Australia's most significant sporting events, including the Brisbane Strikers historic NSL Grand Final campaign, Kangaroos 2000 World Cup Victory in Manchester, 2005 Ashes Series, and the Wallabies European Tours. He has also been a sports presenter on both Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise and a weekly contributor on their Hot Topics segment. For two years, Ben was also a regular on Seven Network's Sportscene, where he later featured in rugby league segments alongside the legendary Trevor Gillmeister.
From 2014, Ben has entertained Southeast Queensland with the day's news as the host of 4BC's B Talkback Drive Brisbane Live Show. His intuitive nature and genuine warmth allow him to relate to his listeners to a range of issues, enabling him to ask about the issues that affect our community and explore the stories that matter to his audience.
Ben is also an accomplished and highly regarded MC, frequently in demand for sporting and corporate events. He has hosted for clients including the Brisbane Lions Chairman's Circles, the Australian Rugby Union, Fosters (C.U.B) and Hyundai Motor Company.
