Tom Nash is an international keynote speaker, captivating his audiences with a motivating and inspirational story of life in the face of adversity
Tom Nash shares his inspiring story around the world of surviving a life-threatening illness, and thriving thereafter. He mesmerises audiences as a keynote speaker, DJ, and quadruple amputee, spreading his thought-provoking perspectives on the power of pragmatism, separation of ‘life-noise’, and the importance of self-reflection.
At the age of 19, Tom suffered life changing alterations to a devastating disease. The infection left him with both arms amputated at the elbow, and both legs below the knee, as well as scarring his face and body. Although, Tom didn’t let his misfortune affect his determination or creativity. Since then, he has rebuilt his life using prosthetics to master tasks that able-bodied individuals take for granted in everyday life. Tom’s story inspires and amuses, while leading audiences down a path of lateral thinking, problem solving, and self-realisation.
Tom's powerful perseverance and optimism in the face of adversity has advanced him to a journey he’d never anticipated. He views his physical circumstances as just another brand of adversity explaining how, "Everybody has hurdles, and everybody has some kind of disability, whether it be visible or invisible, external or internal, physical, mental, or emotional. The adversity is what helps build our character.".
Tom talks about the steps he took to put his life back on track, demonstrating how despite the hurdles we face in life, the human spirit and 'will to live' will always prevail. His ability to captivate any group, alongside his dark sense of humour and clever wit, never fail to leave audiences truly grounded, and unequivocally hooked.
