Legendary Drag Queen and Winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2018
Shane Jenek, better known by the stage name of Courtney Act, is an Australian drag queen, singer, and TV personality.
In 2003, Courtney became one of the first artists to show their gender fluidity when she reached the semi-finals of the first season of Australian Idol and was signed onto Sony BMG.
Courtney returned to television in 2014, where she was in the Top 3 of the Emmy Award-Winning RuPaul's Drag Race season 6, catapulting her onto the world stage. She then released Kaleidoscope, her debut EP featuring mainstream pop beats and lux music videos, gaining over 40 million views online.
In her award-nominated political series American Act, Courtney shows that she is more than just gender or drag. The series has over 6 million views and takes on controversial social causes and stories. It has seen Courtney fire a gun, smoke marijuana and attend a Trump rally in drag.
Quick-witted and engaging, Courtney's show, The Girl From Oz, made its international tour debut in 2017 and received 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
In 2018, Courtney was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother UK. She was a favourite to win and gained dedicated fans during the show, charming viewers with her wit and educating them on queer issues such as gender identity and fluidity, sexuality, same-sex marriage and much more.
After her successful world tour Courtney Act: Under the Covers, she made television history as the host of the UK's first bisexual dating show on E! 's The Bi Life to wrap up a great year in her very own Christmas special, The Courtney Act Show for Channel 4 UK and Peach (Australia).
Courtney released her smash-hit single "Fight for Love" in late 2018 and competed in Eurovision: Australia Decides in an attempt to represent Australia in Eurovision 2019.
In 2019, Courtney made television history yet again. Both her and her partner, Joshua Keefe, became the world’s first same-sex pairing in Network Ten’s Dancing with The Stars, where she danced her way into the heart of the nation.
2020 started out fabulously with Shane and Courtney making a glittering visit to Ramsay Street to brighten up Lassiters and Neighbours for Erinsborough Pride.
Shane then made his debut as a songwriter and composer for Courtney Act's new show FLUID, featuring all original material and songs. In the show, Courtney shares her experiences of gender fluidity with a blend of exposition, song, dance, and costume evolution. FLUID made its world premiere at Darlinghurst Theatre for Mardi Gras Festival to standing ovations and critical acclaim.
