Television presenter and sports legend Johanna Griggs, is well known for representing Australia in swimming, achieving Bronze at the Auckland Commonwealth Games in 1990 and a silver medal at the Swimming World Championships in 1991.
At the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002, Johanna made Australian television history by becoming the first female to solo host an Olympic Games.
Johanna has hosted the Olympics in Athens, Beijing, and Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Australian Open for the past seventeen years.
She spent a few years away from the television industry to give birth to two children. Soon after, Johanna joined Foxtel as a regular panellist on Beauty and the Beast.
In 2001, she began hosting the Sunday morning panel show and for six years, presented several sport broadcasts. Johanna became a regular guest on the ABC and appeared on the series ‘Good News Weekend.’
The Board of Events New South Wales appointed Johanna in 2007. She also received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Macquarie University in NSW for swimming, media, and charity fundraising. Johanna was presented with an AM in the Australia Day honour list for her outstanding services.
She hosted her seventh Olympic Games and second Paralympic Games in 2021 and remains the host of 'Better Homes and Gardens' for the Seven Network.
