Journalist, Broadcaster, and Compelling Storyteller
Mark Readings, a highly respected journalist, presenter, and MC, boasts an impressive 35-year career in the media industry. His extensive tenure with Channel 9 spanned 23 years, where he covered various sports, including AFL and cricket, and reported from two Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games. Notably, he commentated on netball at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and gymnastics in London in 2012.
In 2003, Mark received both a Logie Award and a Walkley Award for his coverage of the Bali bombings. Remarkably, he survived the tragic event, being in the Sari Club and inside Paddy's Bar during the first explosion.
In 2014, Mark transitioned to the Seven Network, serving as the sports presenter for Today/Tonight. His roles included commentary on AFL, WAFL, cricket, Olympics, and Commonwealth Games. Mark also expanded his contributions with The West Australian, engaging in online sporting commentary, podcasts, and weekly articles.
Beyond television, Mark is active on radio, providing commentary with 6pr during the football season and hosting the nightly sports show Wide World of Sports. His strong presence on Channel 7 persists, as he hosts and commentates the WAFL and leads a weekly Footy Show, "The Game," from Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoons.
With an engaging and warm style, Mark, a father of twin daughters, adds humor to his presentations, drawing from his experiences in an all-female household.
