Kate Healy is a powerhouse in the Australian cyber security industry, with a 25-year career spanning some of the world’s largest organisations, including Google Cloud, Telstra, IBM, Commonwealth Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore. She has set the strategy for some of Australia’s most significant security transformation projects and played pivotal roles as Interim CISO at The Lottery Corporation and Head of Risk for Standard Chartered Singapore.
Kate’s journey into cyber security began in 1998 when a university hacker plagiarised her assignment, an event that sparked a lifelong passion for protecting organisations and individuals from cyber threats. That passion has only grown, leading her to establish Empowered Cyber, a company dedicated to equipping boards, leaders, and vendors with the knowledge to make smarter security decisions and build safer, more resilient products and services.
Recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Information Security Association (FAISA) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Kate brings a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and governance acumen. She has also been appointed as a Non-Executive Director, helping organisations navigate cyber risk at a strategic level.
