A Leading Voice in LGBTIQA+ Advocacy, Education, and Inclusivity

With over two decades of dedicated involvement in the Victorian queer community, Sally Goldner is a highly respected advocate, educator, and speaker. Her extensive career includes serving as the Executive Director and Treasurer of Transgender Victoria, co-facilitating Transfamily, and holding the role of treasurer at Bisexual Alliance Victoria. Sally also presents the queer program ‘Out of the Pan’ on 3CR and has contributed to the 2018 book Living and Loving in Diversity. She is one of the strongest and most outspoken voices in the Australian queer community.

Sally’s expertise is unparalleled, with a deep focus on LGBTIQA+ issues, neuro-processing aspects such as introversion and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) traits, and issues regarding LGBTIQA+ seniors. She has been a significant driving force in the growth and development of Transgender Victoria, significantly enhancing its capacity to engage in public debates and influence positive policy reforms at both state and federal levels.

Her contributions to the field have earned her numerous accolades, including an Order of Australia Medal (2019), induction into the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll (2016) as the first trans recipient, and being named LGBTI Victorian of the Year (2015). Currently, Sally is committed to delivering LGBTI training to aged care and other service providers, with a focus on increasing awareness and incorporating LGBTI inclusive practices within person-centred care models.

Sally’s professional background spans being a pioneering educator specialising in LGBTIQA+ diversity, a life coach, a public speaker, and a qualified accountant with 35 years of experience. She’s worked across various sectors, with significant depth in the community and not-for-profit sectors. Sally believes in the power of incremental learning and growth, emphasising the importance of expanding peoples understanding of gender and inclusivity, one step at a time.

Her approach to speaking and coaching is characterised by a unique blend of insight, warmth, and humour. Sally is passionate about helping individuals and organisations achieve their full potential, whether through one-on-one coaching, engaging public speaking, or as a dynamic MC. She is committed to guiding others toward greater freedom, contentment, and productivity, and to overcoming any biases or barriers to inclusivity.

Sally strength as a speaker lies in her ability to share her tremendous life experiences paired with her unparalleled sociableness and good humour. Her mission is clear: to empower and educate, helping people and organisations embrace LGBTIQA+ diversity and achieve their goals with clarity and confidence.
