Chanel Contos founded Teach Us Consent, a grassroots campaign in Australia that was responsible for mandating consent education in Australia, following exposing the levels of sexual violence experienced by students.
In 2022, Chanel was named by BBC World as one of 100 inspiring and influential women worldwide, and in 2023 she was named NSW Young Women of the Year for her persistent efforts towards eradicating rape culture. Chanel continues to act as Managing Director of Teach Us Consent as the organisation provides holistic consent education to the public, and advocates for structural reform to prevent normalised sexual violence.
Chanel is a highly in-demand Keynote Speaker, panel member, and is frequently a consultant for multinational companies on violence prevention.
