Jess Adamson has forged a reputation for herself one of the country's finest journalists. With decades of presenting experience, she is a highly sought-after MC and facilitator for events around Australia.
Raised on the family farm in Hallett, Jess spent much of her early life understanding the rural affairs of everyday Australians. After pursuing a degree in Journalism at the University of South Australia, she joined Stock Journal Newspaper to cover agricultural news for rural South Australians.
Soon after, Jess joined 7NEWS in 1997, where she worked as a crime reporter for over a decade. She covered important stories from around the world, including the Beaconsfield Mine disaster, the drug trials of Michelle Leslie and The Bali Nine, as well as the devastating Boxing Day tsunami, where she reported from the devastation in Banda Aceh. She was also heavily involved in Seven's coverage of the Sydney and Beijing Olympic Games, as well as the Tour de France.
With her extensive coverage and broadcasting experience, Jess was appointed as the weekend presenter for 7NEWS from 2014 to 2020, where she brought the channel to unparalleled ratings.
Jess was named the Best Broadcaster of the Year in 2015 at the SA Press Club Awards. She has also been awarded a range of esteemed awards, including the SA Journalist of the Year in 2006.
Outside of her broadcasting career, Jess supports Australian youths living with cancer as a passionate ambassador for CanTeen. She is heavily involved with various Australian charity organisations, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation, Sids and Kids SA, as well as the Adelaide Crows Foundation.
