Comedian, Writer and Actress

Nina Oyama is a versatile comedian, writer, and actress known for her quick wit and charming persona. She began her career at a young age, securing her first TV writing job at 19, reminiscent of Giselle Bundchen's early modeling breakthrough.

In comedy, Nina is recognized for her stand-up performances, comedic reporting on shows like "Tonightly with Tom Ballard" and "The Weekly," and her role as Courtney on "Utopia." Her 2021 stand-up show, "Doing Me Right Now," was a hit at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and led to appearances on various TV programs.

As an actress, Nina has appeared in shows like "Kinne Tonight," "Dom and Adrian 2020," and "Mikki Vs The World," where she portrayed diverse characters, including a depressed Giant Panda. She is part of the main cast of "Deadloch," a crime comedy noir coming to Amazon Prime in 2023.

Nina's writing credits are impressive, including work on shows like "You're Skitting Me," "The Chaser's Election Desk," "Squinters," "Love Me," and "Yolo Crystal Fantasy." She co-created and starred in the ABC COMEDY series "The Angus Project" alongside collaborator Angus Thompson, earning an Australian Directors Guild Award nomination. In 2022, she, Angus Thompson, and journalist Emma Myers created the SBS Digital Originals series "Latecomers," a groundbreaking disability-led romantic comedy.

Currently, Nina serves as a story editor for the first season of the Hulu x 20th Century Fox adult animation series "Koala Man," set to air in 2023. Her career spans various facets of the entertainment industry, making her a dynamic talent in Australian comedy and television.
