Award-winning Australian performer across TV, stage and print
Em Rusciano made her entertainment debut when she auditioned for “Australian Idol”. After belting out tunes in the privacy of her shower for most of her life, Em made it all the way into the Top Ten finalists, and her stardom would skyrocket after Australians took note of her incredible media presence.
Austero was first to sign her as a radio host for their top-rated 92.9 breakfast show in Perth, where she interviewed Prime Ministers, traded baby-stories with suburban mums and jammed with the Black Eyed Peas. With her confidence and sense of humour, Em drove the show’s ratings to new heights every year.
Soon after in 2010, Network Ten hired Em to be a presenter on “The Project”, which was then followed by an offer from Network Nine to present on “The Circle”. Currently, Em continues to present as a regular on both network’s morning programs. She is the go-to presenter for hosting interviews, preparing international reports, and acting as a local correspondent.
Off-screen, Em made her cabaret debut with her first solo comedy show “The Saintly Bitch Sings”. Presenting to sold-out shows and multiple accolades, Em’s success in live performance was followed up by her Melbourne Cabaret Festival debut “Em Rusciano – The Musical”. Another hit show, Em’s performing talent was recognised with a “Green Room Award” nomination.
Em then made another successful pivot towards comedy in 2013. With her debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, “Puberty Rhythm and Blues” needed extra shows to be added to its run, thanks to the rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
A prolific writer, Em contributes to various media outlets like TV week, The Herald Sun, Cosmo and the immensely popular mamamia.com.au. With her unique insight and wit, it’s no wonder that Em has been able to grow a huge and loyal social media following with over 230,000 on Instagram.
