Singer-songwriter and Aussie rock icon Ella Hooper is a beloved role model from the Australian music scene. With years of experience performing and presenting on various media programs, Ella’s unparalleled confidence will inspire any audience.
Raised in the rural Violet Town, Ella and her brother Jesse showed interest in the performing arts, going on to form the Australian rock band Killing Heidi when she was just 13. As lead singer, the duo wrote and produced songs themselves, leading to a recording deal with Wah Wah Music after winning the 1996 Triple J competition.
Since then, Ella has continued to perform on stage and tour internationally. In recognition of her artistry, she has won multiple ARIA awards, numerous number 1 albums and singles, including the fastest selling Australian album of all time. She was also the youngest and first ever female recipient of the prestigious APRA Songwriter of the Year Award.
Off-stage, Ella shares her charisma on a variety of television appearances, including as a regular on programs like Spicks and Specks, RockWiz, Talking Bout Your Generation, and Good News Week. Most recently, she represented Australia as an entrant in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, as well as on Season 3 of The Masked Singer Australia.
Ella has also been a regular host on the radio show The Radar Aus Top 20, where she promotes fellow Australian musicians every weekend on the nationally syndicated Southern Cross Austereo network.
