From Cancer Survivor to Media Powerhouse, Inspiring the Nation with Strength, Style, and Wellness

Sally Obermeder is one of Australia’s most beloved media personalities, having received wide acclaim for her work as a television presenter, entrepreneur, author, and passionate advocate for health and wellness. Sally is best known as the co-host of Channel 7's popular afternoon show, The Daily Edition, where she brings an exciting blend of entertainment, breaking news, and live interviews to Australian audiences. She can also be seen making regular appearances on Sunrise and The Morning Show, and has become a familiar face in homes across the country.

Sally’s television career began in 2005 when she joined the Seven Network as a presenter for Sydney Weekender, where she became the show’s food, fashion, and shopping guru. From 2008 to 2013, she served as the National Entertainment and Lifestyle Reporter for Today Tonight, interviewing some of the world’s biggest stars, including Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé, and Hugh Jackman. Sally’s warm and engaging personality won over audiences when she competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2013 and hosted the 2014 holiday special 12 Ways to Christmas.

Her life took a dramatic turn in 2011 when, just days before giving birth to her daughter Annabelle Grace, Sally was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. She spent the following year undergoing intensive treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, emerging victorious and cancer-free in 2012. Sally’s inspiring journey and her resilience in the face of adversity are at the heart of her memoir, Never Stop Believing, released in 2013. The book, which recounts her battle with cancer and her determination to succeed in the competitive world of television, became a bestseller and continues to inspire readers.

Beyond her television and writing success, Sally is a passionate advocate for health, wellness, and charitable causes. In 2012, she launched SWIISH, a lifestyle blog that has become a go-to resource for women seeking advice on fashion, beauty, health, family, and travel. The SWIISH ethos, stylish women inspiring inner strength, health, and happiness, resonates deeply with her audience, leading to a loyal following of women who turn to Sally for tips and inspiration in all aspects of life. Later leading to the creation of an online store for SWIISH, which launched in 2015, offering affordable fashion and lifestyle products. A proud ambassador for AVON’s Beauty for a Purpose campaign, Sally continues to use her platform to support causes that are close to her heart.

Sally also co-authored the bestselling, Super Green Smoothies, with her sister Maha Koraiem. The book has sold over 120,000 copies and remains one of Australia’s top-selling cookbooks, thanks to its focus on delicious, nutrient-rich recipes for weight loss, energy, and vitality. The sisters followed up with The Good Life in 2016 and Super Green, Simple and Lean in 2017, both of which have further solidified Sally’s status as a health and wellness advocate.

In addition to her writing, Sally is a highly sought-after public speaker and Master of Ceremonies, working with high-profile brands such as Westfield, Myer, and Bio-Oil. Sally’s charitable work is equally impressive, being an ambassador for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Sony Foundation, and the Nelune Foundation. Additionally, she joined the Shake It Up Team as an ambassador with her co-host, Tom Williams, after meeting Clyde Campbell on the show and learning the far-reaching impact Parkinson’s has on the lives of over 70,000 Aussie families.

Her countless contributions to both the media and charitable sectors were recognised in 2017 when she received the prestigious Readers’ Choice Award at the InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards. With her unwavering commitment to health, style, and positivity, Sally Obermeder remains a highly influential figure, inspiring Australians to lead vibrant, fulfilled lives.
