The Australian fashion icon with key insights to succeed in business and entrepreneurship
Jennifer Hawkins cemented her reputation as an Australian icon when she was crowned Miss Universe in 2004. Since then, she has expanded her professional career as a successful designer and entrepreneur.
Jennifer has worked closely with some of the world’s biggest brands, and has quickly become a popular choice for the country’s most lucrative commercial deals. She has worked as an ambassador for brands like Myer, Range Rover, Lovable Underwear, Mt Franklin Lightly Sparking, Bioglan Vitamins and Redwin Skincare.
Jennifer put her business skills to the test when she collaborated with the Australian retail giant Myer. Drawing on her creative design skills, she released the ‘Cozi by Jennifer Hawkins’ swimwear range in 2007 which have since become a staple in the Australian swimwear market. Her hands-on approach to leadership helped to establish her as the successful entrepreneur behind the multi-million dollar business.
Not long after, Jennifer signed a deal in 2010 to become the face of Siren Shoes. She was also given the opportunity to design her own signature range of heels ‘JLH for Siren’. The brand exploded in popularity, which allowed Jennifer to launch her own ‘JLH by Jennifer Hawkins’ line, featuring her first solo collection in 2012.
Jennifer continues to explore her interests in business, having recently invested in Sydney’s property market. She has built a strong portfolio, including a waterfront house in Sydney’s northern beaches which she designed and built with her partner.
Outside of her business career, she gives back to the community through a range of charitable organisations, most notably as a Patron of the Hunter Children’s Research Foundation.
Having established herself as a recognisable Australian icon, Jennifer Hawkins has grown her name across a range of highly successful and well-received business ventures. She is a respected businesswoman and fashion designer with key insights for navigating entrepreneurship in the contemporary era.
