Born in Belfast and trained in Michelin restaurants throughout Europe, Alastair McLeod draws upon his Irish background to serve up innovative dishes for Australians countrywide.
Whether it’s Belfast’s Roscoff, Italy’s Da Giovanni or France’s La Fregate, Alastair continues to explore new culinary techniques that has deepened his love of the culinary arts. Soon after, he would take his expertise to Brisbane where he worked as the executive chef in Bretts Wharf, and Tank Restaurant and Bar.
Alastair has also combined his love of food with entrepreneurship when he launched Al’FreshCo, a catering business for every type of function; from corporate events to weddings, Alastair is dedicated to sourcing the best local, and sustainable, ingredients to give you the most memorable culinary experience possible.
Outside of the kitchen, Alastair has frequented appeared in national media to explore diverse cuisines. He has a regular column in the Brisbane News where he shares popular recipes, and is also frequently heard on ABC Radio. In addition, he’s been a presenter with Channel Seven’s Queensland Weekender and Network 10’s Ready Steady Cook.
