Entrepreneur and founder of Mon Purse, Lana revolutionised the world of accessories
As an entrepreneur and founder of Mon Purse, Lana Hopkins reimagined the world of luxury handbags and accessories. She started a company that equipped consumers with the power of creativity, individuality and innovation. Lana is a strategic leader who is passionate about building innovative consumer brands with purpose, whilst being able to be a hands-on operator who is able to execute quickly with limited resources.
Beginning her career in media, having worked in print magazine and digital ad sales, Lana drew on her experiences to create the success of Mon Purse. Her commitment, drive and passion for the brand caused the company to excel and Lana became an innovative leader in the Direct to Consumer space.
The idea of Mon Purse came from an unsuccessful handbag shopping experience combined with creating a present for her nephew at Build-a-Bear. The two non-mutually exclusive ideas paved way for a business like no other.
In 2014, Lana founded Mon Purse, with the company experiencing fast growth as well as a $20 million revenue in the first three years.
Having built her company from the ground up, Lana created a business and brand that enabled individuals to design and customise their handbags and accessories easily, one of the first brands to involve consumers in the personalising the creation of their desired product. Mon Purse was highly profiled and forged it’s place in the world of fashion by having boutiques in key locations including Selfridges in London and Bloomingdales in New York.
Mon Purse has received a number of awards for innovation and creativity in a highly competitive market, including the 2017 Inside Retail Omni Channel Initiative of the Year and in 2016 was named Top Retailer to watch by Online Retailer as well as many others.
As a leader, Lana has received numerous awards and nominations including being named as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs to watch in 2017 by Smart Company as well an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2016.
Currently, Lana is an advisor to Antler, an early stage venture capital firm, and ComCap, a boutique investment bank. She aims to start a new Direct to Consumer brand in the US in late 2019.
As a speaker, Lana is passionate about educating audiences on problem solving, communication and having purpose. She works to empower attendees and equip them with the tools needed to unleash their creativity and encourages them to create bold new ideas.
