A deeply respected academic, Dr Keith Suter is a highly sought-after expert on topics such as globalisation, global warming, and corporate governance. An exceptional speaker capable of engaging any audience, Keith’s presentations are always loaded with plenty of valuable and current information.
In 1973, Keith moved to Australia from London to continue pursuing his academic ambitions. His passion for international politics inspired him to achieve three doctorates, researching the international law of guerrilla warfare (University of Sydney), the social and economic consequences of the arms race (Deakin University), as well as a third doctorate on scenario planning (University of Sydney).
Since then, Keith has contributed his legal expertise in many prestigious roles throughout his career, including Chairperson of the International Humanitarian Law Committee of Australian Red Cross (NSW), Chairperson of the International Commission of Jurists (NSW), Director of Studies at the International Law Association (Australian Branch) and Managing Director of the Global Directions Think Tank.
A member of the prestigious Club of Rome since 1993, Keith joins a small group of leading independent thinkers across politics, business and science. Dedicated to improving the world through their relevant disciplines, the 100 members includes renowned leaders like Mikhail Gorbachev.
Returning to University of Sydney in 1991 to 1998, Keith was the President of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies
In 1999, Keith was also made a Life Member of the United Nations Association of Australia in recognition of his service, leading the organisation and taking on roles of the WA and NSW state president throughout 1978 to 1999.
After acting as a Consultant on Social Policy for the Wesley Mission for 17 years, Keith continues to provide expert advice on global issues as a consultant for different organisations. He also conducts monthly webcasts with leading business leaders as an active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Keith has also written many highly regarded books, including "All About Terrorism: Everything You Were Afraid to Ask" and “Global Order and Global Disorder: Globalization and the Nation-State”. He makes frequent media appearances on radio and TV to discuss international affairs.
