Boo was selected for pilot training in the Royal Australian Air Force at age 18. Successfully graduating as a fighter pilot and being one of only 400 fighter pilots trained over a period of 40 years, Boo had achieved his life's dream of flying an F/A-18 solo. Eleven years of service later, Boo was medically discharged after a diagnosis of "bone-fusing" Ankylosing Spondylitis, ending his dream career and presenting him with one of the biggest emotional and financial challenges of his life.
Boo had no other recognised skills to his name, so he took a leap of faith and entered the business world. He travelled to Afghanistan to establish what is today one of the world’s largest humanitarian service providers: CTG GLOBAL. As the founder and CEO, he considers this period in his life to be “the ultimate MBA program.” With a unique bank of knowledge and lived experience like speaking at the UN in New York and Geneva, and speaking with local Afghan people as a part of his company, Boo developed an authentic understanding of purpose, empathy, determination, and the importance of service leadership when running a complex business.
