Gary Mortimer is a leading research professor in retail and consumer industries. With a particular interest in food retailing, Gary is highly respected for his extensive insight and expertise.
Gary has amassed over two decades across leading Australian food retailers and general merchandising. Currently a professor at the Queensland University of Technology Business School, Gary Mortimer leads QUT’s Marketing and Consumer Behaviour research faculty with over 100 academic manuscripts, conference papers and industry reports.
With valuable insight on a range of retail and consumer-focused topics, Gary has been appointed as the Chair of the Australian Retailers Association Consumer Research Advisory Committee, the Expert Advisory Group of NSW’s Department of Planning, as well as the Industry and Environment Employment Zones Reform. He is also heavily involved with the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and the International Journal of Bank Marketing.
Gary is frequently consulted as an expert and media commentator. He has contributed his expertise to a range of Australian media outlets, including newspapers, television and radio.
