Rachael Beck is a multi-talented, award-winning performer and educator whose career spans almost three decades across stage, screen, and creative coaching. Celebrated for her ability to captivate audiences and empower individuals, Rachael is as versatile as she is accomplished, seamlessly blending her artistic expertise with her passion for teaching and mentoring.
Rachael is widely remembered for her iconic role as Belle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’, where she starred opposite Hugh Jackman, a performance that earned the 1996 ARIA Award for Best Australian Soundtrack/Cast/Show Release. Her acclaimed theatrical credits include her Green Room Award-nominated roles as Fantine in ‘Les Misérables’ and Rumpleteaser in ‘Cats’, both produced by Cameron Mackintosh. Other standout performances include Kathy Selden in ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, Sally Bowles in Sam Mendes’ ‘Cabaret’, Truly Scrumptious in ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, and Maria in ‘The Sound of Music’.
Beyond the stage, Rachael’s screen work has included appearances in ‘Home & Away’, ‘City Homicide’, ‘Stingers’, and Alex Lykos’ feature films ‘Me and My Left Brain’ and ‘A Long Night’, where she starred as the lead, Vivian.
A highly skilled concert performer, Rachael has enchanted audiences in productions such as ‘Broadway to Hollywood’ alongside Todd McKenney and Tommy Tycho, the national tour of ‘War of the Worlds’, and ‘More Than Words’ at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. She has toured nationally with ‘You and Me’, performed with Queensland Pops Orchestra, and featured in ‘Strictly Gershwin’, which earned a Helpmann Award nomination.
Rachael’s contributions extend far beyond performance. As a passionate educator, she leads workshops and residencies in schools across Australia, nurturing creativity and building resilience in young people. She is the creator of ‘The Lionhearted Theatre and Arts Program’, which uses the arts to address mental health issues such as anxiety and depression among students. In her role as National Head Judge for Wakakirri, a story-sharing arts festival for primary schools, she continues to inspire the next generation of storytellers.
