Gavin Baskerville

Gav Baskerville began his career in the late 90s as a national finalist in Perth’s Raw Comedy Competition. He moved to Melbourne in 2000 to pursue comedy further, performing alongside Australia’s best comics all over the city. Gav has performed, written and produced in ten Melbourne International Comedy Festivals and has feature as a performer in five Hobart Comedy Festivals. Currently, he runs the Jokers Comedy Club in Hobart; home to Jeff Green, Judith Lucy, Denise Scott, Damian Callinan, Dave O'Neil and a long list of others.

Gav’s quick wit and charm have led him to performances all over Australia and overseas. He has appeared on Ten’s The Project and Stand-Up Australia on the Comedy Channel. He is a regular guest on ABC Radio, 7HOFM in Hobart and Love Sport Radio in London. He has supported international comedians including Tommy Tiernan, Jeff Green and 'Weird Al' Yankovic. In 2005 Gavin was a recipient of the Brian McCarthy Memorial Moosehead Award.

Now based in Hobart, Gavin runs monthly comedy rooms in Hobart, a Melbourne Comedy Festival venue and he’s constantly seeking to grow and progress Hobart's growing comedy scene. His stand-up comedy workshops are regularly held in Hobart, Perth and Melbourne.

Gavin is an experienced MC, support act and feature performer. His natural charisma and stage presence allows him to captivate rooms for hours on end. Gavin tailors his material to the specific audience he performs in front of, meaning your show will be uniquely and certifiably hysterical.
